The Importance of Having a Virtual Assistant

Virtual Assistant - Who am I?

If you search through the web, you will find different definitions on what is a Virtual Assistant.

Wikipedia: A virtual assistant (typically abbreviated to VA, also called a virtual office assistant) is generally self-employed and provides professional administrative, technical, or creative (social) assistance to clients remotely from a home office.

Investopedia: A virtual assistant is an independent contractor who provides administrative services to clients while operating outside of the client's office. A virtual assistant typically operates from a home office, but is able to access the necessary planning documents, such as shared calendars, remotely.

The common denominator among the two are: Virtual Assistants provide administrative support from a home office.

Who am I? I am Lynn Charisse, a freelancer who works as a Virtual Assistant who offers various services to businessmen to enable them to focus on other business matters that need their personal and immediate attention.

So much to do, so little time.

Doing a lot of different things alone can be overwhelming and we tend to forget some of it which may make us feel inefficient. Meetings with clients, promoting your products and services, monitoring sales and expenses, responding to inquiries and more, yet at the end of the day there are still a lot to do and 24 hours seem not enough to finish everything.

I feel busy but I am unproductive.

As a businessman, sometimes you are burdened with various tasks to ensure that your business will be successful. You feel busy yet unproductive coz there are times that doing a lot seems not enough to attract customers and generate more sales.

How can a Virtual Assistant help you?

Virtual Assistants cater to different needs of clients, they may specialize in one or more areas and are versatile to ensure that they meet their demands that would help in the growth of the company. And they do not just help your business, they can also help in running your personal life smoothly. Hiring one will lift a lot of workload from your shoulders like email and social media marketing, bookkeeping and even answering your customer’s queries. Having one means you can spend more time to focus on other tasks to grow your business and you feel more at ease knowing you have them to do the day-to-day tasks.

Services that Virtual Assistants offer

Here are some things that a Virtual Assistant can offer for a client from vanetworking:

Marketing support – A VA can assist you with marketing support, increasing your clientele and freeing up valuable time to service your customers. They also can handle all your marketing and publicity helping you to spread the word about your product or services.

Specialty services – Many Virtual Assistants specialize in web design and search engine optimization. Once you work with a VA, they know your business inside and out, who better to help you prepare your website.

Make you shine – A Virtual Assistant can make your next presentation shine by giving it that polished professional presentation which is sure to capture your audience and promote all your products and services.

Gives you a professional edge – A Virtual Assistant can be instrumental in proofing, editing, and typing all your correspondence, pleadings, manuscripts, etc., thus allowing a more professional edge to all your business communications.

Bookkeeping services – A Virtual Assistant can take over all your bookkeeping, bills and accounts payable. Let them worry about payroll so you can worry about the important tasks of running your business.

Event Planning – A Virtual Assistant can plan your next company event or outing providing for an enjoyable and memorable time for all. Think how much more enjoyable it can be when the burden of planning is removed.

No office space required – A VA can save you space because he/she work from his/her office as an independent contractor.

Save you time – Hiring a VA can save you time because you will not have to spend time hiring an employee or temporary help, as well as training the new staff.

Get you organized – A Virtual Assistant can schedule your appointments, manage your calendar, organize your desk, and make running a business that much smoother.

Affordable!!! – Because VAs work on an “as needed basis” and only when you have work, hiring a VA can save you money. Clients only pay for the work done, and don’t have to pay for benefits, equipment, or supplies. What a cost savings that can be.

Even if you don’t see them, they are there and they get things done.

Virtual Assistants are freelancers who usually work from home or anywhere they want and they may work for different clients at the same time. They are paid either per hour or per task. They can be hired long term or short term depending on the needs of the client and how a Virtual Assistant performs his tasks. Often, once a Virtual Assistant is hired, their clients only get to see them if there is a need for video calls. Mostly, they are just given access to various tasks that needs to be done at a certain time. They are trained in their respective skills so even if clients hardly get to see them, they are sure to get things done.
